Purchasing and packing!

Updated: Apr 26, 2020

Hello to all our fellow fishermen gearing up for some professional self-isolation! Our season is a go and we have been busy purchasing and packing barrels. My garage is getting full and I have been parking outside for nearly a month now!

The snow is melting around Lloydminster and we are keeping an eye towards the weather in the North...FYI, its still frozen hahaha! The warming trend is starting tomorrow and Matt is planning his first trek North with supplies in the coming days.

This is a crazy time we are living in and I have taken Covid 19 into account regarding our day to day in camp. We will be aware of the mandates set out provincially and federally and will be diligent to operate within the latest guidelines. Broad spectrum cleaners, industrial quantities of hand sanitizer and of course social distancing are first and foremost. Here is a tentative rundown of how camp will flow:

ALL GUESTS STAYING IN CABINS MUST BRING THEIR OWN PILLOW AND SLEEPING BAG for 2020. (Each mattress will have a fresh triple sheet layer)

PRIOR TO TRAVEL (the day before) PLEASE COMPLETE THE HEALTH ASSESSMENT TOOL BY CLINKING THE LINK:

We will be screening temperatures and symptoms on arrival for all guests. If you arrive and are symptomatic, we will house you and your travel mates in isolation and return you and your travel mates home the following days.

Each cabin will be meticulously cleaned, but will have a bottle of prepared cleaner for you to utilize when you arrive if you so choose.

We have a shared shower house and it will be cleaned daily, but there will be a bottle of prepared bleach solution for each guest to use prior to your shower and following each shower. This is mandatory.

The dining room will extend access during meal times to accommodate social distancing. Breakfast will run from 6-8 am and supper will run from 6-8pm for those of you enjoying my homemade meals. Meals will be dished up for you to prevent serving utensils from being touch by multiple people. All condiment containers will be wiped down multiple times throughout the meal being served.

Hand sanitizer will be available throughout camp for all guests to use, but please bring your own if you can. Hand sanitizer will be at the door to the lodge, door to the shower house and on the ice freezers. Hand sanitizer will also be on picnic tables around camp and at shore lunch.

If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me! I will be phoning or emailing the group's main person 2 weeks before arrival to review our new 2020 normal and confirm arrival. I understand that some people are hesitant and may not want to travel in and that is your right.

So, clearly I have been sorting through a ton of information while Im still working. That does not mean that we are not working on things to get ready for our fishing season. My garage may be full with supplies but there was still room enough to get a layer of stain on some boards that we are assembling into new picnic tables!! Wathaman will get one as will shore lunch and the rest will be for around the main camp! Beyond excited and definitely long overdue!!

We will be relocating for the season in early May, but the phone and internet is already operational. My computer will be set up as soon as we get into camp so I can and will be in contact with whomever needs to email or call me.

Our family is really excited for the 2020 season and is looking forward to having you come and stay with us in camp. Tight lines folks!
